(Cryptocarya oblata also called "Tarzali Silkwood")
1. Origin : North Queensland
2. Description: Colour is pale Mauvish Pink. Much the same in
appearance and weight as Queensland Maple but slightly
lighter, softer and weaker than that world renowned
specie.

3. Uses Cabinet work, furniture, joinery, turnery and interior
panelling. Excellent for drawer sides ( slightly greasy).
4. Working
Properties ( various authorities comments)
* Not quite the same sheen as Maple Silkwood but
very similar and softer, lighter and easier to work.
Generally an extremely close substitute for
Queensland Maple.
* Easy to work and mortice, dresses cleanly and
takes a bright polish.
* This tree grows up to 100ft (30.5m) and 150
inches (3.8m) in girth
