1. Origin :                               Central and West Tropical African

2. Description:                      Vivid Blood Red toning down to Dark Purple Brown with Red

                                                   streaks on exposure. Grain  straight to interlocked with

                                                   moderately coarse texture.

     Properties      ( various authorities comments)

                                                   *   Very durable and resistant to decay ( A closely related

                                                        species was used  to construct Sir.

                                                   *   Alex Rose's yacht " The Lively Lady" for his single

                                                       handed  circumnavigation of the Globe).

                                                   *   Quite strong. Despite weight it nails, screws and glues

                                                        well, producing an excellent finish.

                                                   *   Extremely stable timber.
