1. Origin Tasmania.
2. Description: Medium to large softwood from Western Tasmania. Pink to Pale Red Brown fading on exposure. Texture fine but uneven due to harder latewood. Straight grain. Becoming scarce.

3. Uses Boat building, vats, external joinery and furniture, sounding boards for pianos and violins.
4. Working Properties ( various authorities comments)
* When free of compression wood it is easy to work and to steam bend.
* Resin exudation sometimes occurs and it may interfere with proposed application on musical instruments
