2. Description: Variable colour light to dark Yellow Brown ( sapwood a creamy White ). Fine even texture with abundant knots. Strong aromatic odour. Weight
3. Uses Internal and outdoor furniture, joinery, carving, parquetry, flooring jetty piles, barge boards, fencing and cladding.
4. Working Properties ( various authorities comments)
* Can be satisfactorily machined to a smooth finish.
* Seasoned timber requires pre-drilling to prevent splitting.
* Can be glued satisfactorily if special techniques are used (eg roughened surfaces).
* Very durable whether in contact with the ground or in wet situations. Resists termites.
* Readily accepts paint, stain and polish.
