1. Origin : Canada. Eastern U.S.A
2. Description: Cream White with Reddish tinge. Large trees may have a dark Brown heart. Usually straight grained but sometimes wavy. Texture fine and even.

3. Uses Has a high resistance to abrasion and wear and is used for heavy duty flooring. Used for furniture and panelling, textile machinery rollers, shoe casts, musical instruments, ports goods and butchers blocks. Excellent for turnery.
4. Working Properties ( various authorities comments)
* Difficult to work with moderate blunting effect on cutting edges.
* Reduced cutting angles required with curly or wavy grained timbers.
* Pre bore for nailing.
* Takes glue, stain and polish satisfactorily. ( Note : we also have stocks of stocks of figured "Birdseye" Maple priced at a premium rate)
