SOUTH AMERICAN (HONDURAS ) MAHOGANY (Swietenia Macrophylla)
1. Origin Central and South America.
2. Description: Light to dark Red Brown. This timber darkens to a rich Dark Red on exposure to light. Prominent growth rings if back sawn. Texture medium to coarse and uniform. Dark gum or white deposits commonly occur in pores. Sometimes ripple makes are seen.

3 Uses High class furniture timber. Used for cabinet making, reproduction furniture interior panelling, pattern making, veneers and musical instruments.

* Can be worked easily with hand and machine tools if kept sharp
* Easy to glue and takes nails.
* Polishes well to an excellent finish.
