1. Origin : West Tropical African
2. Description: Light to Deep Red - Brown. Grain straight to interlocked Moderately coarse textured to medium. Logs may have falling fractures. ( which possibly add to the character anyway) Weight
3. Uses Fine furniture and cabinet making. Office , shop and bank fitting, interior joinery , boat building and vehicle bodies. Veneer board.
4. Working Properties ( various authorities comments)
* Moderate blunting effect on tools.
* Tension wood or interlocked grain can cause woolliness.
* Reduce cutting angle from 15 degrees to 20 degrees.
* Nailing , gluing and screwing properties are good and timber may be polished and stained to an excellent finish. Specifications / Sizes generally stocked: Thickness: 1" ; 1.5" ; 2" ; 3" ( 25mm; 38mm; 50mm & 75mm)
