3. Uses Furniture, cabinet, joinery, turnery, laboratory bench tops, external joinery. 4. Working Properties ( various authorities comments)
* Very durable. ( Used in boat construction).
* Silica causes blunting to cutting tools and below 20% tungsten carbide tipped saws are essential.
* Tends to split on nailing.
* Holds screws well.
* Glues and stains satisfactorily.
* An excellent finish is achievable but filler may be necessary
* Good strength ( better than Mahogany).
