BUBINGA

(Guibourtia  Spp )  

 

1. Origin :                     Equational Africa ( Cameroon , Gabon , Zaire )  

 

2. Description:             Very dense, fine grain, purple -  pink to salmon red colour with

                                            dark purple veins. Quartersawn boards often  show attractive

                                            mottle figure (also called Kevazingo)

3. Uses                        Veneer and decorative purposes. An alternative to Rosewood 

                                            for high class furniture and cabinet work.

4. Working

                                                                 *  Takes a high clean finish
