2. Description: Moderate sized tree ( around 30m ). Timber is Red and has a
fine interlocked grain. It is very tough, strong and durable both
in and out of ground. Difficult to season.

3. Uses
Previously widely used for constructional work. Its naturalbeauty allows it now to be offered as a realistic alternative to

Working
Properties

* This timber is very hard to work with either hand or
machine tools.
* Cutting angle of 15o required with Interlocked grain to
prevent picking up.
* Support timber near end of cut to prevent chipping
away.
