1. Origin : Ivory Coast . Ghana

2. Description: Yellow brown to specie resembling. Teak but without.

Teak’s oily character. Unlike Teak does not bleach on exposure

but tends to darken with time. Heavier than Teak. Very durable

3. Uses Alternative for Teak for ship and boat building and for other

purposes requiring strength, stability, durability and good

appearance. Widely used for furniture and cabinet work.

4. Working

Properties ( various authorities comments)

* In spite of it’s hardness can be worked fairly readily with hand

or machine tools.

* Blunting effect on cutters small compared to Teak.

* Finishes cleanly and gives good results with polishes, stains

and glue.

* Some variation in colour is to be expected
