Saw timber is Pale Brown to Whitish Brown often with

Pinkish tints. Grain is open to coarse but even and straight

3. Uses Furniture, parquetry , linings, flooring, laminated

beams, joinery, turnery. Also widely used in building industry

Properties ( various authorities comments)

* A very versatile species.

* Machines and turns well to a smooth finish.

* Gum veins are unavoidable.

* Glues without difficulty and with standard fittings presents no

unusual problems.

* Readily accepts stain and polishes.

* Rated moderately hard.

* Requires careful seasoning to minimize checking and collapse
