1. Origin :                 Australia;   Papua New Guinea

2. Description:          Colour usually clean and shining. White sometimes greyish 

                                         silvery or slightly tawny. No figure. The character lies in the 

                                         sheen and purity.

3. Uses                           Prized for furniture finishing. Good steam bending qualities. 

                                         Used for shafts of billiard cues. In boats used for ribs and

                                                   generally pleasing appearance, its toughness and 

                                                   flexibility.

                                               *   Has been used for flooring where it has proven easy to 

                                                    wash and resistant to stains.

                                               *   Readily accepts stain, polish and paint

                                               *   Its robust flexibility has led to use in sporting applications 

                                                   ( baseball bats, archery bows, cricket stumps, gun stocks 

                                                    and skis)
